The LIINES is seeking a research assistant to support a project on large scale renewable energy integration. This is a short project of 3-6 months in duration; although there is potential for renewal. The research assistant will ideally have a background in electrical engineering and energy systems. The candidate may be a graduate student, post-doc or a particularly strong upper level undergraduate. Superior quantitative proficiency especially using MATLAB and/or Python is absolutely required. Strong technical writing and presentation skills are highly desirable. Compensation is commensurate with experience and is competitive with typical academic rates. Topic: Systems Engineering of the Energy Water Nexus
Research Theme: Energy-Water-Nexus
Level: Graduate -- Mechanical & Systems Engineering Focus

The LIINES is seeking a doctoral research assistant to support a computational research project on the energy-water nexus. This is a fully-funded five-year doctoral research position. The research assistant will have strong fundamentals in mechanical engineering including electro-mechanical systems, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics. The candidate should also have a strong interest in the field of systems engineering and its extensions into engineering systems. Superior quantitative proficiency especially using MATLAB and/or Python is absolutely required. Strong technical writing skills is highly desirable. Knowledge of control theory and optimization is also beneficial. The successful candidate will receive paid tuition and a monthly stipend. For further questions, please do contact Prof. Amro M.
