LIINES Opportunities:

The LIINES is always looking for new researchers to join its ranks! If you are interestied in making a
big impact in the area of intelligent energy systems have a look into the LIINES Research Program and its five research themes. We have several funded research opportunities! Beyond these, do consult our list of current project ideas. Dartmouth undergraduates in engineering and computer science are explicitly encouraged to apply!

How to Apply:

Interested individuals should email Prof. Amro M. Farid, with the following items:
  1. Expected dates of availability or admission
  2. Cover letter expressing your research interests & motivations. Please do mention if you are interested in any the LIINES’ current project ideas and if you have a specific engineering focus (e.g. electrical, mechanical, systems) that you wish to develop.
  3. CV or resume
  4. Transcript from most recent university
  5. Expected source of funding. See list of potential funding sources below.
  6. Relevant publications in the area of intelligent energy systems (Graduate students & senior researchers)

Applications are currently welcome from:
  • Undergraduate students (especially with strong math & computing skills)
  • Graduate students applicants
  • Interns
  • Visiting students/researchers

*Prospective Graduate Students: Applicants to the Thayer School of Engineering should ensure that they meet all requirements and deadlines for admission.

*Dartmouth Undergrads!: If you have a passion for sustainable energy from an engineering, computer science, economics, and/or policy background then we definitely want to hear from you! In most cases, if you have taken ENGS 20, ENGS 22, COSC 1 and/or COSC 10, we can get you up and running. The LIINES has no shortage of flexible projects that can be tailored to your skills! Undergraduate theses are especially welcome.
