Professional Bio:


Dr. Asha Viswanath is now a Research Associate at New York University Abu Dhabi in the Division of Engineering specializing in urban traffic analysis and uncertainty quantification. She was a postdoctoral researcher within the LIINES at the Masdar Institute of Science & Technology working on hybrid dynamic models of electric vehicles. She received her Ph.D. from the Computational Design research group in the University of Southampton, UK where she specialized in dimension reduction techniques in aerospace design.

Prior to her Ph.D, she was working in Cranes Software International in Bangaluru, India as developer of analysis techniques in the finite element software NISA. She completed her masters of research from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangaluru, India. Before that she worked as a developer in a civil engineering consultancy firm, S & R Consultants, Kerala, India. She solely developed a Finite Element (FE) software for analyzing 2D building structures in C which was her first achievement in her professional career.
