Professional Bio:


William N. Lubega completed his M.Sc. in Engineering Systems & Management at the Masdar Institute of Science & Technology in May 2014. His research focused on the development of an engineering systems model to support integrated planning and control of the energy-water nexus. His work is particularly applicable to the context of the Gulf Cooperation Council where the nexus manifests itself as three interconnected grids, largely under the authority of a single semi-autonomic regulatory body. In the course of doing his M.Sc. research, William published two papers in high-impact journals and presented his work at four reputable conferences. He is currently a Ph.D student in the Energy-Water-Environment Sustainability program at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign where he is continuing his energy-water nexus research with the Stillwell Research Group.
